My First Sports Day in SK Bendang Siam

22 June was the SK Bendang Siam Annual Sports Day. Prior to this a number of events were already carried out including the 'sukantara' or additional sports where pupils can score points for their own houses. There was only a small field and there were no relay events etc. which needed more space but it was an enjoyable event for the pupils. Sports activities are of importance as they will help keep the pupils healthy physically, mentally and emotionally too. As soon as I have arrived in school, I went to help get the Yr 6 from Red House who were participating in the march past ready. We had to make do with some old accessories and signboard etc to save time. I touched up the 'Hang Tuah' signboard and it looked brighter and more attractive. I could still remember I was in Yellow House in SK Selama and a lot of effort was put in together with the teachers and pupils there and we won the first prize for the best decorated tent. Well, over here , we have to adapt to the budget as well The headmaster delivered the opening speech followed by the En Kamal B. Mansor, the LMS District Education Officer who delivered his official speech and officiated the sports. The march past by the four teams went on smoothly with the oath taking as well. The taekwando demonstration conducted by Encik Harun, an ex-teacher from this school and now is attached to the LMS District Education Office. I met him a few times before. The group of members in the taekwando club here gave an impressive performance. ++__- The participants remained in the tent as other activities were going on . I haven't been given the task for recording the results for a very long time but on this special day I enjoyed it as well and had to be in charge of any emergency case too to provide first aid. Again, there was Pn Faridah to help and I have found a nice friend in her. Red House emerged the overall Champ. Congratulations to members of my team , teachers and pupils as well. To the others especially the teachers of SK BS and pupils, the success of this year's sports depended on all.
