What's Up?

On the 7 August, I organized an English Workshop as one of the KRT Pekan Selama programmes to help a small group of Year 6 pupils from SK Selama and SK Sri Selama pupils. Though not many turned up , the programme was carried out with some fun for about three hours. This session was activity based and the pupils were tested on their spelling, grammar, sentence construction and note-expansion.

I prepared the little incentives in the form of wafers. Buns, wafers and bottled drinks were provided for everyone. Ana came to help me for the beginning and her daughter stayed back to help in the marking. That made it fast.

A similar workshop was conducted on the 21 August for the SJK ( C ) Chi Sheng 1 and SJK ( T ) Jalan Sir Chulan here. The response was good and the pupils enjoyed themselves throughout the programme. Though the time was just two hours, we managed to carry out a number of activities such as language games, spelling, grammar quiz and sentence construction. We motivated them to learn English as it's very useful.

I do appreciate with thanks the help given by my friends, Theresa and Ana.

On the 21 August too, I drove to Taiping with friends who are committee members. We had the whole area of the nee restaurant to ourselves. Many sang happily the Mandarin songs very well and I wished I could sing like that too. Glad to see my second aunt and many ladies from the Perak northern divisions. She is from the Taiping committee.

Then , our guest of honour was YB Senator Heng Seai Kie, the Deputy Minister from the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. She had always wanted to meet us as there were important information, messages and directions for us. I was delighted to meet her personally again. As Wanita leaders we must be able to help those who are in need. For me, this matter is much of my concern and though everything was delivered in Mandarin, I still managed to grasp what she was saying. Now, I am working on it to do my part and will not let her down.

Went shopping at TESCO before returning home.
