What had been happening lately.

I'll be busy for these two weeks as I'm preparing for my PTK exam which is just round the corner. However, got to write something in my blog after a short silence.
Recently, we witnessed how the MCA fresh elections brought down Dato Seri Ong Tee Keat whom I've supported right from the time he became the president of the party. I believe if the rakyat still need him, they will vote him again as he has proven to be a good leader, perhaps in the next General Elections. I do hope during the next round of MCA elections next year, the delegates would choose him again as the president. Someone, who has many good leadership qualities though he is not perfect and have made some mistakes . I appreciate his courage to expose the PKFZ corruption case which landed him in hot soup and finally lost his president's seat. Well, since he had done his part all we can hope for is that MACC will be successful in finishing the job. I believe and hope all the culprits will face the music. Being a party member still, I am concerned about whatever is happening and giving our opinions is our right. Will still be following the news about our Wanita head, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fen too who said she would resign if Dato Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek becomes the president. Well, we'll wait and see about that.
Now, it is Cheng Meng festival and it is time we remember our beloved ones who have left us. The old generation has contributed a lot to society and have gone through more hardship and we thank them and appreciate their sacrifices. As I walked through a street in Raja Uda, Butterworth last week, I was thrilled by the items sold especially as gifts for the dead. There is more variety now compared to before and business is really good. What caught my attention was the 'mahjong' set and I asked my husband to have a look and he laughed. He loves to play 'mahjong' . And me , it must be a laptop I suppose. All the paper clothing , accessories and paper money are not cheap. However, people keep on buying these materials due to their respect for the culture and the fear of not practising this tradition. However, we have to ponder and think whether we are spending unnecessarily or there are any other ways to do good for the dead.
We must be environment friendly as well so it is not necessary to burn so much paper. I believe strongly in transferring merits to my beloved elders who have passed away. Whatever religion they were following before it doesn't matter , I still will transfer my good merits to them. Each time a meritorious deed is done, I think of them and wish they will receive the goodness of it. Therefore, we must try to do as much good when we have the opportunity and as life is short we will soon be joining them and won't be able to know what will happen after that. Anyway, I joined my family members in prayers for my mum-in-law who passed away a year ago. Am going to the graveyard for Cheng Meng tomorrow. This is family tradition and a sign of respect for the dead. Young ones must not forget their ancestors and must carry on their good name and fulfill their good wishes. Visiting the graveyard must make us realize how important life is to us for what can we do if we are already 6 feet underground.
Thus, do we have to go on fighting over small matters that can be resolved together. Should we be filled with greed, selfishness, jealousy, hatred and vengeance that make our life more miserable? Our actions will affect the lives of others too and we are responsible for our own actions. So it is good to reflect on ourselves more and also the good virtues of our beloved ones who have left us.
May All Have Good Health and Happiness.
