As the programme coordinator, I feel it is my duty to do my best to make the event a successful one. I do hope some ex-pupils will be able to help around . I am just helping the protem Alumni committee to organise it. The committee headed by its president, Dr Mahmod Othman, Perlis UiTM lecturer,Mr Lingaeswaran and Mr Eddie Chuah who will all be attending this event, I feel I will be able to play my role well. The contact through emails and calls to other committee members like Roslan and Hasnan too did help as well. The sincerity of each person is important and though some are far away and busy with our work, we can still make a little time for a good course.
As we have too little time to prepare, we are going to make it simple and the important task is gather all ex pupils back to their primary school where they received their basic education. Many have become successful people in their own fields. Their returning will mean a lot to themselves especially. As they meet old friends and teachers they get the chance to exchange news and perhaps rekindle old friendship. They may share sweet or bad memories just for fun. It is just like putting back pieces of memories together to get the whole picture. Many of us can't remember much unless someone else reminds us of an incident for example.
We don't ask what the school can offer us now but for these ex-pupils it is time they ask themselves what they can offer to the school. With a large variety of experiences, ideas and capabilities, I am sure, they have a lot to contribute to their old school. They would surely think of ways to contribute to a fund so that they are able to carry out various beneficial activities. The committee when formally formed will be able to function more systematically to benefit the pupils of this school. Besides, the ex-pupils themselves can have some fun with games and competitions. After all, it is their old school and there is no need to shy away but instead they have to walk tall and be proud to say they are ex-menterians as some call themselves as the school was more popularly known as S.R.K. Jalan Menteri many years ago.
Welcome back and let's share some happy and memorable moments together.
