I had an opportunity to be involved in a few interesting Red Crescent Activities this year which will be memorable ones. First was the meeting of the district trainers with the Cocurricular Supervisor to form a committee of trainers in Larut, Matang & Selama. Then, on Red Crescent Day, 8 May,2008,we took a big group photo and visited the Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Selama at Nur Gemilang. The district's RC Chairman, Yg Bhg Dato Hj Md. Akram attended the celebration with other committee members. All 65 RC Level 2 members from my school had a picnic and entertained the handicapped pupils of the school besides handing over cash donation.
I felt pleased to be able to contribute to the making of the RC Learning & Teaching Module organised by the RC and JPN with the help of PSPN Perak. Hope the project is a success and am looking forward to its launching at Legend Inn next year.
Was lucky too to be invited to the RC 6oth anniversary celebration in Ipoh. Didn't have this opportunity at all before so I enjoyed being around. Happened to be around when the big group photograph of DYTM Raja Dr Nasrin, the Menteri Besar and all the Chairman from various districts of Perak was taken. A truly memorable moment to meet the Regent again as the day before I was at the Kuala Kangsar Palace receiving the PJK award from him.
Another golden opportunity knocked at the door again. Thanks to Mr Chuah Teik Wei, our Perak RC Secretary. He did the right thing by announcing about the RC Advance First Aid Course and others for trainers on the BSMM Perak blog . Well, I do appreciate each moment being at the Wisma BSMM Perak for the four days training . I truly learnt a lot and made many new friends with the same interests. There is so much to learn from qualified persons like Dr Choo, Mr Ng, Dr Lai , Mr Chuah and others. I will jump at other opportunities to follow the other RC courses such as Bencana Alam or Disaster Relief , CPR and others next year. Maybe going to the MCRC HQ in K.L. even. It was lovely to have met Dr Jagjit Singh for the first time.
I hope to be able to guide the other RC teachers in Selama zone to organise RC activities more actively and the members be allowed to sit for their tests next year.
Luckily my school managed to send 2 participants for the BSMM - JPN camp in Kuala Kangsar and 2 others to the Perkhemahan Integrasi PBB at PLKN in Ijok, Batu Kurau. Besides, 10 of our members attended the Kem Kokurikulum Gemilang at school.
Hopefully, we can manage to complete the activities planned well and successfully next year.
I need the cooperation from all the RC teachers in school and next year they will be sent for proper training. Thanks to all who have helped.
