Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri

To my Muslim sister, Lyn ( Nurlina ), brother-in-law, Md Jamili Wahab, nephew, Asyraf and niece, Ayrena , my education officers, headmistress, teachers of SK Selama, all my friends , pupils and ex-pupils and their families and all muslims generally, here's wishing everyone, "Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri" .

Having seen my muslim friends who were fasting which I didn't do for even one full day, I admire them for they have successfully fasted and cleansed themselves. Hopefully, there is some sort of realization and some positive changes.

Each time it's raya, I'm in the festive mood too as it's the time I can order my favourite lemang and also rendang. This time , it's going to be special as I'll be with my youngest sister Lyn as she is celebrating raya in Penang. I have bought a pretty orange baju kurung with sequins and a matching hairband for my darling grand daughter, Grachael. She will look lovely in it!

Two rayas before I organised the Raya Reunion with the SK Selama Alumni Committee but this year I'm taking a break. There're lots of test papers to mark. Moreover, with the poor turnout for the 2010 last year, I felt very disappointed. Therefore, if there is going to be another big programme, the ex-pupils themselves have to handle it. Perhaps, we may have a truly grand reunion.

Hopefully, everything will be fine for everyone. Especially for my pupils who will be sitting for their UPSR examination after the raya break, I've advised them to do their revision and homework. Others too do have to sit for their August Test at the same time.

Hari Raya Aidil Fitri is a time for forgiveness, to show kindness to others and I do enjoy these good spirits. In fact, I've lived most of my life with my Muslim friends and had grown to love their culture , custom and food especially. "Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri" to all who are celebrating it and together , let's join in the celebration.
