Hello, everyone! Just returned from Teluk Intan where the Language Carnival was held. Had another experience of judging one of the events at the state level. It was good to be there with my good friend, Ju who had been looking after her husband who fell sick. I too shared the joy with her as her husband is back to work in our education department.
Being there at the carnival gave me the opportunity to witness the presentations from the 10 districts in Perak. I realise that the Perak English teachers especially have put in a lot of effort in improving the pupils' English as the standard of performances is better than last year, even those from non elite schools.
I must congratulate the Co-curricular department and all the technical officials who have worked hard to prepare for this carnival. I hope the cooperation between them and the English teachers will be better in years to come. I am proud too that my district had emerged champs in all four English events for primary schools. Our SK Convent Kota girls have done us all proud as they trully deserve to win. Hope they will be the national champs too.
Well, there is another competition which is the Spelling Competition and as my school is in charge, I will be busy running it for the district. I am wondering whether it is a true break, this hols. Well, am now busy marking these test papers. Next week will be my session of motivation talk and extra class. Will be busy preparing the Powerpoint slideshows and materials for the English programme.
On and off, I'll be going to Penang and Taiping and spend most of the time with my lovely grand daughter, Grachael. No great plans however. As usual, there is still plenty of unfinished job to be done and that will keep me busy.
I wish everyone "Happy Holidays" and stay alert all the time. Have an enjoyable time.
