Action Song Champs of Kamunting Zone and LMS District 2016

SK Klian Pauh Action Song emerged as the Champ in Kamunting Zone for 2016. This year the theme is Protect Marine Life. Am proud of these 9 year old girls.

SK Klian Pauh is the Champ of the District Level Action Song Contest for 2016. This is the best achievement for English participation this year. Congratulations , children. They had practised very hard and deserve to win.

Time really flies. It's almost half a year in 2016 and I have forgotten to update my personal blog. Facebook seems to be more interesting. However, I have to update this blog too. There have been lots of events in my life and I will be free to update this blog later.

Chinese New Year 2015

Chinese New Year was celebrated on the 19th and 20th of February and till Chap Goh Meh ( the 15th day ). Glad that this time it didn't clash with my intensive course in the university. Am glad to have my eldest daughter with me as she had planned the menu for the first few days and all of us enjoyed her delicious cooking. All my daughters came back and little grandson celebrated his first Chinese New Year with us. He is so adorable and is growing bigger and more cheeky day by day. After visiting relatives , my children had their own programmes and it was back to normal. As usual , there were books to mark and preparations for school. Chinese New Year years ago were more fun when our parents were around.

Mini Musical Theatre , "The Magic of the Mangroves" by SK Klian Pauh

On the Conference Day , SK Klian Pauh pupils performed their best to the audience, many who were foreigners. They acted, had a dialogue , danced and sang to send a message across on the importance of maintaining the mangrove forests. We do appreciate the help given by our English native speakers , Mr Travis, Mr Alan and Mr Martin who are in Malaysia under the KPM programme. It was nice of them to help us and I too have learned a lot from them . The costumes sewn by a tailor were beautiful and colourful . We thank and appreciate the Perak Forestry Department for giving the children this opportunity to gain this new exciting experience.

This group photo was taken during the rehearsal . Lovely with everyone of us on the stage. Wonder when would we get such golden opportunity again. This was the last programme with our ex-headmistress , Pn Hjh Norhashimi before her retirement.

A big group photo was taken after the performance and together with Mr Travis, Mr Martin, teachers, Pn Rohani Ghazali, Hjh Rohani Samhuri, Pn Fatimah, Pn Norziah, Pn Hjh Nor Hashimi, Pn Norizan and Pn Khairiah. This mini musical theatre of around 20 minutes is a very colourful one filled with dances and songs and the children enjoyed themselves. I will never forget the fun , fellowship and good teamwork. It is on Youtube. However it is shaky because I didn't use a stand when recording it.

The Matang Mangrove Forest Visit on 3 October

With the visit to the Mangrove Forest in Matang and the charcoal factory on the 3 October, the 34 pupils who are the cast of the musical theatre are connected to nature and ready to start on a new adventure of theatre performance. With our headmistress's support , teachers,English mentors and the officers from Jabatan Perhutanan Perak and Taiping , I am sure we will be able to put up a fantastic show successfully. Though time is limited, we will all put in joint efforts and we believe we can make it . The second meeting will be conducted tomorrow on the 7 Oct.2014 and it will be the first training session for the pupils as well. The songs and music have to be carefully selected and edited . Costume designs are now being drawn and printed out for our seamstress to sew. Then, the teachers and Year 6 pupils will be busy with the props. It all sounds exciting and most importantly,the pupils enjoy themselves during the training sessions and performance and they love Mother Nature. To everyone especially Mr Alan, Mr Travis and Mr Martin who have shared ideas and experiences, we express our gratitude. We are a team and we'll work hard to make it happen. 24 November , the performance is especially for the official opening ceremony of the Perak Conference of Mangrove Forest . Farewell To The Tiger of Jelutong, the late Karpal Singh, a Malaysian Hero.

I like this interview. The late Karpal Singh has touched the lives of many, inspired them. He's my idol. Wish there are more leaders and politicians like him . Those who truly fight a good cause against corruption, discrimination, racism and speak for the oppressed, minority and ill-treated . He fought for justice, equality, human rights and freedom of speech till the end. His tragic death had shocked us but his legacy will live on. Deepest condolence to his family and loved ones. May You Rest In Peace. Thank You for your contribution to our country and society.

Pray For MH370

I haven't been actively blogging or commenting for quite awhile. There are several reasons for not doing so . However, the missing MH370 is really disturbing and every now and then for 8 days , like others I have been waiting for news. May a miracle happen and the plane and all on board are safe and home. Whatever happens , no one really knows. Soon, investigation results will be out. One thing I have learned from this incident is that it has proven that life is uncertain. Everything is impermanent and it's a catastrophe or an accident that can change our life and the life of those around us especially our dear ones. It is an awakening for all to treasure life more and not to waste precious time. It calls for those who are compassionate to reach out to those who need them at these sad moments. Some are worried sick and need some comforting words or even a hug or a cup of tea. Since many of the passengers are Chinese nationals, volunteers like those from the Tzu Chi Buddhist Merit Society whom I admire have come forward to land a helping hand. Volunteers from NGOs an government and airline company care for all regardless of their race , nationality or religion. Hopefully, all the next of kin, beloved relatives and friends of those unlucky passengers will remain brave and calm. The long hours of waiting is rather painful , exhausting and depressing and there are better ways to overcome it. Whatever it is, it is better be mindful of the present moment. To look after oneself is very important because if one falls sick,one can't perform daily chores or work properly. Life goes on no matter what happens. I love watching the scene where multi-faith prayers were performed together which reminds us that we are the same though different. We go through the same experiences in life , suffering especially pain and hurt. Love and compassion practised together with kindness and generosity are the best values that bring mankind together. When news that MH370 may be hijacked, I was much angered. It's because I am against violent acts in my life, being a peace lover and humanitarian values are part of me. No one has the right to destroy the lives of others and hijacking a plane or terrorism where innocent lives are at risk are surely acts of cowardice which should be condemned. I hope the mystery of the missing MH370 will be solved soon. With all the latest modern equipment we hope the task of searching for a 'needle in a haystack ' will bring results and not rumours and speculations. May all who are involved in the search be strong and positive in their mission. Malaysians have been commenting a lot in the net but I choose to be keep my comments to myself not like before where I voiced my opinions aloud. This is because social media is used to down others and it is done by scrutinizing postings and comments to attack others. So I had to be more cautious about whatever I post. Meanwhile, let's keep our fingers crossed and continue praying for the best .

New Year, New Challenges... Have A Happy & Successful 2014

As usual we all greet the new year with cheers and new hopes. Yet, we have to face the realities in life as it isn't a bed of roses . Life has its ups and downs. Every new day we face new challenges and gain new knowledge and experiences to make us better human beings. They do keep us alert and beware of those around us who are going to harm us. Life has it's own teachings and we must realise it before it's too late. It is all is up to us as we are in control. For me life is too short and there's too much to be done. All the heart aches have to be healed with patience and forgiveness. My journey is coming to an end , I keep reminding myself. Let me do the things I love to do and make life more meaningful together with my loved ones. Love is power.
